Robert C. Duncan  & Andrew Parece have been interested in statistical inference ever since they were students together at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.    Duncan later became a Research Scientist in Astrophysics at the University of Texas in Austin, TX, where he developed the theory of magnetars.  Parece is based in Boston, MA and has applied statistical methods to a wide variety of business strategy issues as consultant to professional sports teams and leagues, and clients in other industries.
